Alfred Cheng (b.1988) is a thread artist based in Hong Kong. A self-taught artist who has mastered his craft to illustrate contemporary visions through weaving a single non-breaking strand of thread on canvas. Alfred believes that only through the interconnectedness of each other, the ultimate well- being of all existences can be balanced and at peace.

In Alfred’s eyes, there are no boundaries and nothing is absolute. It is this vision that allows the artist to explore the endless possibilities of interconnectedness and the unique approach to ‘thread painting’.

Through skillful manipulation of this minimalist technique, the artist is able to convey complex emotions and ideas with a unique aesthetic and a deep understanding of the power of simplicity.
